Pegasus Psychiatry offers consultation to hospitals, health systems, departments of psychiatry and psychiatric and behavioral health service lines, medical groups and practices, insurance carriers and health plans, and schools and universities, among others, on integrating psychiatric and behavioral services into a continuum of care. Tom Zaubler, MD, MPH, the founder of Pegasus Psychiatry, has an extensive background in administrative psychiatry as chair of the department of psychiatry for Morristown Medical Center for 21 years and a well-established track record of integrating population-health focused, measurement-guided, and outcomes-oriented psychiatric care into primary care and medical specialty practices using a collaborative care model.

Tom has served on an advisory board for the New Jersey Department of Health addressing the integration of psychiatric and substance abuse services into primary care and worked with the New Jersey Psychiatric Association to lobby legislators to mandate insurance coverage for collaborative care CPT codes. He started and led the collaborative care initiative for the Atlantic Health System for years, establishing the first-in-state collaborative care programs in New Jersey. Tom has been engaged both clinically and academically in this field of psychiatry since the mid-1990s, beginning with his fellowship training at the University of Washington where he received his Master of Public Health. He has served as a member of the Board of Directors for the Atlantic Medical Group, one of the largest medical groups in New Jersey, and a member of the Board of Trustees for the Foundation for Morristown Medical Center.

Tom also has an expertise in leveraging technology to assist health systems to implement virtual collaborative care programs. He is currently the Chief Medical Officer for Neuroflow, a company offering technology-assisted virtual care to integrate psychiatric and behavioral services into the medical continuum.

For hospitals, departments of psychiatry and psychiatric and behavioral health service lines, Pegasus Psychiatry can offer administrative support and guidance. Tom was the residency training director for the Department of Psychiatry at Georgetown University and as chair of the Department of Psychiatry at Morristown Medical Center for 21 years was responsible for: all inpatient, outpatient, emergency and consultation liaison services; quality assurance; peer review; implementation and growth of innovative services such as a hospital-wide delirium reduction program; focused and ongoing professional practice evaluations; credentialing of physicians; and, multiple successful Joint Commission surveys. He was also the medical director for the Employee Assistance Program for the Atlantic Health System for 21 years.
